IN CHARACTER
Legatum Mysteria is an organization seeking to make its mark on the world. After a number of dire circumstances befell the members of this organization, they decided to be more proactive, and thus the founding of Legatum Mysteria would begin...Their day-to-day focus is the pursuit of knowledge, the perfection of their various crafts, and the protection of both the realm and those they hold dear. The ultimate goal is to effect change on this star by uncovering its mysteries. This of course is not to say that every member is a benevolent hero. On the contrary, many have joined this organization to serve their own selfish interests - and no one takes issue with that. There is, after all, a great deal of profit to be made from these pursuits.Members can effect change in many ways, and thus Legatum Mysteria welcomes people of all stripes - be they artisans or warriors, spies or researchers. There is truly a place for you here if you seek change, regardless of your skillset.

<LM-RP> is a Rank 30 RP-focused Free Company on Mateus with a medium house. We also have an outpost with a small house on Halicarnassus and we welcome new members from either server! We love to foster the personal storylines of our members as well as have overarching FC plots.We are LGBTQIA+ Friendly and Founded. Due to mature themes, all members must be 18+ both IC and OOC. We are based in North America, but we do what we can to accommodate people in all time zones.RP ranges from Slice of Life to DMed Adventures. All members are encouraged to run their own RP events for their personal storylines - and the officers and advisors are more than willing to help collaborate on those stories if you need help.We are mostly lore compliant, but we bend the lore here and there where it makes sense. If you are familiar with the TTRPG 'Rule of Cool', we generally follow that concept. So long as it doesn't step on toes or break immersion, you're probably okay - but you are welcome to ask an officer or advisor if you're not sure. Your character can be of any alignment, so long as it makes sense.Overall, we are looking for active members who love Final Fantasy XIV's universe and love to tell stories. If that sounds like you, and you would like to be part of something new, consider joining us! And you altoholics need not worry - we are alt-friendly as well. ♥
Guidelines
These guidelines are in place alongside the current guidelines for both Discord and Final Fantasy XIV, where applicable.
CODE OF CONDUCT
1. To attend our events, be a part of our Discord community, or to be a member of the Legatum Mysteria Free Company, you must be 18 years of age or older, no exceptions. If it comes to light that you are under the age of 18, you will be removed from the FC and the server, no questions asked.2. All characters involved in the FC or its events must also be at least 18 years of age, to avoid potential problematic elements.3. As a part of this community, you are expected to treat everyone with respect, member or non-member. Abusive language of any kind is not allowed. Bigoted hate speech and slurs are explicitly not allowed. These include but are not limited to: racism, sexism, transphobia, homophobia, ableism, antisemitism, and fatphobia/body shaming. Even if you're 'only joking', it's not okay.4. While we discourage discussion of religion or politics, we recognize that for some members, particularly our LGBTQIA+ members, their existence is inherently seen as 'political' by some. As such, conversation of these topics are allowed, but ONLY in the vent channel. Furthermore, proselytizing and endorsing specific candidates/political parties is not allowed.5. If you are having an OOC disagreement with someone, please remove any arguments from the discord server or linkshell. Any personal concerns or issues you may be having with another member need to be discussed between the two individuals in a private channel. We don't expect you to always get along all the time, but try to deal with your personal conflicts in private and avoid involving other members.6. While we do insist that private disagreements should remain private, if you are being actively harassed or abused by a member of this FC or the server, please contact an officer and provide screenshots if at all possible. Your safety is of utmost importance!
ADULT CONTENT & ERP POLICY
1. No public lewdness is allowed within open areas of the FC House. That being said, we are a lewd-positive FC! Just take it somewhere private, away from prying eyes, and/or keep it to a party chat or tells. This is both out of respect for others around you who may not consent to participating in lewd activities, and to avoid any trolls out there who want to ruin peoples' good times. Much like any other sexual content, keep it safe, sane, and consensual!2. Do not post sexually explicit content outside of the NSFW channels.3. Due to Discord's terms of service, we cannot allow NSFW content of Lalafells in our Discord server. Lalafells are adults, but the people at Discord might not see it that way at first glance, so please play it safe.4. We do not allow any other sexual content that is against Discord's terms of service, such as underage content, lolicon, shotacon and the like. And frankly, if you would sexualize children, we do not want you here.5. For the comfort of all members of the FC as well as our friends, do not sexualize other peoples' characters without their permission. IC COMPANY RULES
The IC Company Handbook which is given to every member IC is not nearly as long, but its rules are no less sacrosanct.1. NO HEROIC SACRIFICES.2. The Directors of Legatum Mysteria are as follows: Zozola Zola, Daerin Roda, and Lalamune Zazamune. They operate as a triumvirate and any rulings that come from one come from all.3. The Directors operate under an open door policy. Members may come to the Directors to address their concerns at any time, and are required to report to the Directors with any major issues that may arise for the company or its members.4. Members are free to pursue their own interests, as long as such interests do not conflict with the interests and well-being of Legatum Mysteria and its members. Examples of such conflicting interests include but are not limited to:
a. Direct affiliations with the Syndicate of Ul'dah
b. Direct affiliations with the Sekiseigumi of Kugane
c. Direct affiliations with Rowena and the House of Splendours5. Non-Combatant and Domestic Staff are led by Keimblyss [NPC]. Issues pertaining to provisions, cleaning, and maintenance should be directed to her. Additionally, our domestic staff is no less important to the goals of Legatum Mysteria, and must be treated with respect.
RP & GM POLICY
1. Each and every member can run their own RP events and plan them in #rp-event - whether they be social gatherings or full-on adventures - regardless of their rank or how long they have been a member. When you run an event, you become its Game Master(s). GMs are allowed to include people both in the FC and outside of the FC in their events. Every participant is expected to respect the GM's rulings, where applicable, to participate.2. Do not overstep the boundaries of your fellow roleplayers or act on their behalf without their explicit consent. Neither the Officers of the FC nor the GM of any event have control over the actions of the other characters. As such, if you are GMing please do not railroad the players, or run a combat scenario that is impossible to win.3. If you have a large, ongoing story arc, please post a thread for it in #rp-event giving as many details about it as you like. Update the thread with new information as it comes to light, and note at the top of the thread how close the arc is to completion. This will serve as quick and easy plot hook reference and allow everyone to space out the conclusion of these massive story arcs and give players room to breathe between big events.4. If your character does something that would lead to consequences from the company - such as causing property damage, hurting another member, getting the company into trouble with the law, or simply violating rules IC where OOC rules do not apply - an OOC conversation must take place between the player and an officer to determine what their IC consequences will be. This is a joint decision between you and the officer, which should start with the Officer asking: "What do you want the consequences for this to be?" This allows you agency for your character and alleviates some burden from Officers. Once you have decided that, the consequences will be implemented in an IC scene! Just remember that your IC consequences =/= OOC consequences!5. While we recognize that character bleed happens sometimes, please keep a strong delineation between IC and OOC. Your IC conflicts, romances, and other interactions do not equate to your OOC interactions with other players. Do not let IC events affect how you treat others OOC.6. Failure to follow these guidelines may lead to temporary suspension from running RP events for the FC in the future.
